It is kind of a shame to show this picture.
This is my the very first picture that I explored in Photoshop where I merged three pictures into one. However no matter how I manipulated I could not make the same angle of light on the people's faces. You can definitely tell there were three pictures.
This February, my Mom came to U.S. visit me. There was no way that the whole family could come to U.S. Therefore I created this picture so that it feels like we were together. However, my poor skill just inspired me. I want to merge a better picture. NO Even Better, I want the Best picture.
Is it amazing to merge or I should say create a picture that is not happening in the world. Every fat lady will no longer be fat in the picture. They look slim and much more beautiful that before.
With the computer, there is no ugliness. Is it a dream world? All the ugly things are corrected to be beautiful. That is what I want. In my eyes, I want everything to become colorful and amazing!

Hi Ring,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started reading your blog I was definitely drawn in by the first sentence. There's something off in the picture, but you can't put a finger on it. You spend the rest of the post subtlety explaining that you're a digital photography artist, without blurting it out. You give the viewer insight on your photoshopping process. Basically, you're new to it, but fascinated.
I appreciate the way you throw yourself into your piece and can really hear your voice--I wish you could always talk like this in class! The only thing I think you could play around with is the post's ending. After I read this I was more impacted about why you published this particular post, and not why this picture defines you as an artist. But maybe not. I think it's really strong post regardless.

Hello Ring,
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great! It was a very good idea to use your own image as a background. You found a way to make it more personal. I liked the story that you picked to introduce yourself very much. It's an intelligent way to show the potential power that we have when modifying images. You created an imaginary family photo that has the potential to impact memories. As I am writing you, I wonder what will happen if you show this imaginary memory to your children, or grand children...
I am sure that you will learn more photoshop skills in our course – that will increase your freedom to express your ideas.
Feel free to include more photos and links to your blog – about texts, videos, other blogs that you find inspiring.
Best,
Martyna
